LCS Laboratory Inc. provides ready-to-use air sampling kits designed specifically for assessing occupational exposure in welding facilities and large-scale production lines. These kits help health and safety professionals evaluate air quality at welding stations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and protecting worker health.
Welding operations can release hazardous fumes, vapours, and particles into the air, posing serious health risks to workers. Proper air sampling is essential for identifying and quantifying these airborne contaminants to ensure safe working conditions and regulatory compliance. Our air sampling kits are tailored to meet the needs of experienced health and safety professionals, enabling them to perform accurate assessments and create effective safety reports.
What’s Included in the Air Sampling Kit?
Each kit is customizable and typically includes:
- 2-15 Portable Air Sampling Pumps
- Hoses and Cassette Holders
- Filters and Adsorbent Tubes
These components are suitable for collecting airborne dust, welding fumes, and vapours. If this is your first sampling project, we can support you by offering complimentary training.
Key Tests Offered with the Sampling Kits
Our kits are designed for a variety of common welding-related air quality tests, including:
- Welding Fumes
- Sampling: Conducted using 37 mm MCE cassettes according to the NIOSH 0500 method.
- Analysis: Total Dust by NIOSH 0500 method followed by metal scan for 12–26 metals using the NIOSH 7301 method (ICP-AES).
- Respirable Welding Fumes
- Sampling: Focused on Iron Oxide, Aluminium, and Zinc as respirable fractions. Conducted using 37 mm MCE cassettes with a cyclone following the NIOSH 0600 method.
- Analysis: Metal scan for the three target metals using NIOSH 7301 (ICP-AES).
- Formaldehyde and Acrolein
- Recommended For: Welding on oily or painted surfaces.
- Sampling: Collected on DNPH tubes as per the NIOSH 2016 method.
These tests provide critical data for assessing Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and exposure risks at welding stations. Additional tests can be included to address specific workplace conditions—simply let us know your requirements when requesting a kit.
