What does our course include?
If you request our course, we will send one of our highly skilled silica analysis specialists to your own lab for a 2-day intensive hands-on course using your own materials and equipment. Our specialist will walk your personnel through the entire process, from instructing clients on how to collect and submit samples, to processing of raw samples, to quantitation of silica by FTIR, and calculation and reporting of the relevant data to clients.
We will teach your lab:
- Preparation of samples for FTIR (ashing samples, use of a pellet press and die, handling, labelling and storage of KBr pellets)
- Quantitation of silica in complex spectra (single/multiple peak integrations, corrections for convoluting peaks)
- Automation of quantitation (Thermo Fisher OMNICTM users only)
