Purpose of THC Air Analysis
As the medical marijuana industry grows, so do concerns about worker exposure to psychoactive compounds like THC. Inhaling THC particulates during processing can pose potential health risks, making it critical for employers to evaluate workplace exposure levels against occupational safety limits. Our new testing service provides accurate measurements of airborne THC particulates to help maintain a safe working environment and ensure regulatory compliance.
Technical Details of the THC Air Analysis
LCS Laboratory uses advanced High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) to analyse air samples collected on 37 mm filters. Two analytical procedures are available:
- Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC): Measures airborne THC levels.
- Total Psychoactive Components: Quantifies both THC and tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA), reported as total THC.
Our methodology offers a sensitivity of 1 µg/sample, which translates to an airborne detection limit of 0.002 mg/m³ for a typical 4-hour sampling period. This level of precision ensures reliable data for evaluating occupational exposure limits in environments where medical marijuana is processed.
