LCS Laboratory offers air quality testing kits and laboratory testing for Hydrogen Peroxide vapor. The sampling kit includes personal air sampling pumps, and 25 mm sampling cassettes. When the samples are collected we will analyze them in our Industrial Hygiene Laboratory using the OSHA 1019 method, and report the results back in full compliance with the AIHA standards.
Hydrogen Peroxide is a strong oxidizer that is used in industries as an oxidizing agent or in medicine and sterilizing product and antiseptic. The end-use products typically contain from 3% to 30% of Hydrogen Peroxide.
Despite the fact that hydrogen peroxide is an over-the-counter product and public opinion presumes that it is “safe to use for any application”, it is quite volatile and it’s Occupational Exposure Limit (Ontario, 2017) is very low and limited to 1 ppm. In contact with skin, and lung tissue, Hydrogen Peroxide may cause chemical burns.
