LCS Laboratory Inc., offers sampling media and laboratory testing for Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) fumes/mist of second hand smoke to our Canadian clients. Samples are collected using a modified NIOSH 0500 procedure at 2-3 L/min for up to 8 hours. LCS Laboratory extracts the THC from the samples and analyzes the extract using a proprietary HPLC-UV technique. The test is recommended for the evaluation of workers’ exposure to cannabis smoke.
The typical reporting limit of THC is 0.2 μg/sample or 0.2-0.5 μg/m³. Due to extreme sensitivity of the method, we require at least one QC travel blank sample to be submitted for analysis.
Since this is not a standard method, it cannot be recommended for collection of legal evidence.
If you’d like to order the sampling media, please contact us to discuss your project.
