Indoor air quality is an essential component of the LEED certification process (2017). In response to LEED requirements, LCS Laboratory has developed sampling procedures that allow consultants and building managers to evaluate air quality. Our sampling kits an be customized to fit your requirements. We offer the sampling equipment, media, and laboratory analysis as a single package. The following tests are available:
PM10. LEED compliance concentration is 50 μg/m3 .
Samples are collected on 37 mm PTFE sampling cassettes with a GK2.69 cyclone at 1.6 L/min. The recommended sampling time is 24-48h. Expected sensitivity at 24 h sampling is 25 μg/m3
Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC). LEED compliance concentration is 500 μg/m3 .
Several tests are available to address your unique requirements:
Option 1. TVOC. Reported as a sum of all volatile compounds. Samples are collected for 24 hours on a TraceAir II #525 diffusive sampler. Recommended sampling time is 24-48h. Expected sensitivity at 24h sampling is 40μg/m3
Option 2. TVOC. Reported as a sum of all volatile compounds. Samples are collected for 2-8 hours on charcoal tubes to the total volume of 30L. Recommended sampling time is 2-8h. Expected sensitivity is 170μg/m3
Option 3. TVOC. 20 major compounds are identified using Mass Spectroscopy and reported individually. Samples are collected for 2-8 hours on charcoal tubes to the total volume of 15 L. Recommended sampling time is 2-8h. Expected sensitivity is 10 μg/m3
4-Phenylcyclohexene (4-PCH); LEED compliance concentration is 6.5 μg/m3 .
Samples are collected for 24 hours on a TraceAir II #525 diffusive sampler. Recommended sampling time is 24-48h. Expected sensitivity at 24h sampling is 5μg/m3
Formaldehyde. LEED maximum concentration is 27 μg/m3 .
Option 1. A sample of formaldehyde is collected for 8 hours on a TraceAir II #581 diffusive sampler. Recommended sampling time is 8-24 hours. Expected sensitivity after 8h sampling is 3 μg/m3
Option 2. A sample of formaldehyde is collected for 24 hours on a Chemdisk #571 diffusive sampler. Recommended sampling time is 24 hours. Expected sensitivity after 24h sampling is 9 μg/m3
Option 3. A sample of formaldehyde is collected for 2-8 hours on DNPH tubes to the total volume of 30 L. Recommended sampling time is 2-8h. Expected sensitivity is 7 μg/m3
Carbon Monoxide. LEED maximum concentration is 9 ppm; no more than 2 ppm above outdoor levels
Option 1. A sample of Carbon Monoxide is collected for 8-24 hours on a Gastec 1D dosimeter tube. Recommended sampling time is 8-24 hours. Expected sensitivity after 8h sampling is 7ppm and 2ppm after 24 h sampling
Option 2. A sample of Carbon Monoxide is collected for 8 hours on a Gastec 1DL dosimeter tube. Recommended sampling time is 6-8 hours. Expected sensitivity after 8h sampling is 2ppm
