Air Sampling cassettes

Air sampling cassettes

When testing for airborne asbestos and lead particles in residential environments, both analyses can be conducted using the same high-flow air sampling pump. However, specific considerations must be taken to ensure accurate and meaningful results.

Air testing for asbestos and lead is important for evaluating indoor air quality and protecting occupants from exposure to hazardous materials. Whether you are assessing an older home for potential lead contamination or monitoring for asbestos fibres during renovations, our comprehensive air sampling solutions provide reliable insights tailored to your needs.

Technical Details of the Service

  1. Equipment Compatibility:
  2. Sampling Guidelines:
    • Each test requires a separate sample for each room where air quality assessment is needed. Since results are specific to the sampled location, additional samples should be collected if multiple rooms are of concern.
    • Sampling for both lead and asbestos requires approximately three hours per sample. During this time, the pump must remain in operation and under supervision to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  3. Sample Collection:
    • For general residential testing, one sample per room is recommended to account for potential variations in airborne contaminants across different areas of the home.
    • Both asbestos and lead air samples should be returned to LCS Laboratory Inc. together for simultaneous analysis, streamlining the process for our clients.
  4. Safety Considerations:
    • While our pumps are robust and reliable, they are not intended to be left unattended during operation.
