Laboratory Test: Vapour Pressure Measurement by OECD 104 (0.1 Pa Sensitivity)

Vapor above liquid contains complex mixture of all components of the liquid/ Composition of the vapor can be described in terms of Partial Pressure

polycondenced aromatic

LCS Laboratory Inc. offers unique vapour pressure testing of compounds, providing critical data for regulatory documents like SDS preparation. Using the OECD 104 method and a high-sensitivity setup, we measure vapour pressures from 0.1 to 100 Pa at room temperature, delivering reliable results with a sensitivity of 0.1 Pa.

Vapour Pressure Testing Process

Our testing method uses a saturated vapour technique, where air is saturated with the vapour of your product until equilibrium is reached. The vapour is then condensed in a cold trap or adsorbed onto a medium, followed by analysis by HPLC-UV or GC FID. This allows us to calculate and report the vapour pressure with high accuracy.

Requirements for Vapour Pressure Testing

To ensure accurate results, the sample must meet specific criteria:

  • Pure chemicals only with a known molecular formula and molecular weight
  • Stability in contact with air
  • Detectable by GC or HPLC methods
  • Testing conducted at 25°C
  • Results based on the average of three measurements for reliability
