Flammable Liquids (Class 3):
- Flash Point (closed cup) – Tested by ASTM D 56 to identify ignition risk.
- Initial Boiling Point – Determined using OECD 103 or ASTM D 86 to classify liquid hazards.
- Kinematic Viscosity – Measured by ASTM D 1200 to evaluate the flow characteristics of liquids.
- Water Content – Essential for assessing the presence of water in flammable substances.
Flammable Solids (Class 4):
- Readily Combustible Solids, Screening Test – Conducted by UN procedure to screen for combustion risk.
- Readily Combustible Solids, Burning Rate Test – UN procedure-based testing to measure burning rates.
- Self-Heating Substances – UN procedure testing to identify self-heating risks.
- Water Reactive Substances – Evaluated using UN procedures to classify substances that react with water.
Corrosive Substances (Class 8):
- Skin Corrosion Rate – Tested by OECD 435 to determine the effect on skin tissue.
- Metal Corrosion Rate – Performed on steel and aluminum coupons using ASTM G31-72 at 55°C, as required by GHS classification.
