Vapor Pressure is an important property of liquids and solids, and it is often used as an indicator of the volatility of the product. Many regulatory documents require the Vapor Pressure to be reported.

All components that make up a product contribute to the resulting (total) vapor pressure above the surface. If your product is a pure chemical, the measured vapor pressure represents the property of your product. On the other hand, if the product contains several solvents, the most volatile component contributes the most into the resulting pressure.

LCS Laboratory Inc., offers a high accuracy measurement of vapor pressure above the liquid or solid samples. We test within the pressure range from 0.5 to 500 mm Hg at 25°C. The test is based on the Mass Diffusivity theory  and similar to the OECD method 104 (Knudsen effusion technique). During the test we measure the diffusion rate of vapor from your product through a small orifice and use the diffusion rate to calculate the vapor pressure. This method is most suitable for volatile and semi-volatile liquids and solids.

The above example shows the importance of laboratory testing in establishing the true vapor pressure of your product.  We also test for all other properties you might need in preparation for regulatory documents. For pricing, please check our current catalogue.
