Air sampling cyclones are used to remove large particles from air stream, so that only the smallest, so-called “respirable” dust fraction is passing through and is collected on a filter. We offer 3 different types of cyclones: an old style Dorr-Oliver cyclone, modern “aluminum” cyclones, and high velocity Respirable/Thoracic Cyclones. Our rental rates are per field-day, in other words you do not pay for shipping time. When you place your order, please specify how many cyclones you need, for how many field days you need them, and when and where we should deliver them.
Dorr-Oliver is the first or “original” air sampling cyclone. It fits standard 25 and 37 mm cassettes. The cyclone must be used at a flow rate of 1.7 L/min in order to deliver proper dust separation.
Aluminum cyclone was introduced around 10 years ago, and quickly became popular because of its small size and simple design. Our models fit standard 37 mm cassettes. The cyclone must be used at a flow rate of 2.5 L/min in order to deliver proper dust separation.
