Air sampling cassettes
LCS Laboratory offers filters, cassettes, impingers, derivatizing solutions and sampling pumps for the measurement of mono- and poly- isocyanates. The procedure is unique because unlike other methods, it allows the measuring of ALL, even unknown isocyanates.
MAP
Isocyanate vapor and mist are collected on a 25 mm glass fiber filter spiked with 1-(9-anthracenylmethyl)piperazine (MAP). MAP reacts with isocyanate group, and produces a nonvolatile derivative, thus preserving the isocyanate for laboratory testing. Samples are collected at a flow rate from 1 to 2 L/min to the total air volume of 15 to 500L. Estimated detection limit is 0.1 ug/sample.
NIOSH 5525 offers different sampling techniques suitable for short and/or time weighed average sampling. Samples can be collected on 37mm, 25mm, IOM’s, 13mm filters and impingers. The best part is that you don’t even need to know what type of isocyanate is used. We still can measure it.
